WEST AUTOS — THREE-MONTH WARRANTY AND AFTERCARE
Warranty period
West Autos provides a three-month warranty with each qualifying vehicle. Cover begins on the date the customer takes possession of the vehicle and continues for three calendar months. Extended Warranties also available at time of sale for an extra fee.
Warranty provider
This warranty is provided and administered directly by West Autos. It is not an insurance product or a third-party warranty.
What is covered
Subject to the terms below, the warranty covers mechanical faults arising during the warranty period, including faults affecting the engine and gearbox.
The warranty also includes:
• Mechanical wear-and-tear repairs
• Reasonable diagnostic costs authorised by West Autos
• Roadside recovery authorised by West Autos
• Labour and replacement parts approved by West Autos
What is not covered
The warranty does not cover:
• Tyres, including punctures, damage or normal deterioration
• Electrical components or electrical faults
• Accidental, malicious or cosmetic damage
• Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, overheating, continued driving after a warning light or fault appears, incorrect fuel or fluids, competition use or unauthorised modification
• Faults or conditions clearly disclosed to and accepted by the customer before purchase
• Repairs, diagnostics or recovery arranged without prior authorisation from West Autos
Financial limit
The maximum total amount payable by West Autos under this warranty is £1,000 per vehicle during the complete three-month warranty period.
This limit includes approved parts, labour, diagnostics and roadside recovery. Once the total limit has been reached, no further payment will be available under this warranty. This does not limit any separate rights or remedies the customer may have under consumer law.
Making a claim
If a warning light, breakdown, unusual noise or other problem occurs, the customer must:
• Stop driving as soon as it is safe if continued use could cause further damage
• Contact West Autos promptly
• Provide the vehicle details, current mileage and a description of the problem
• Allow West Autos a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle
• Obtain approval before authorising diagnostics, recovery, parts or repair work
West Autos may inspect the vehicle, nominate a repairer or approve another suitable repairer. Unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety, no work should begin until written or recorded approval has been provided.
Unauthorised work may not be reimbursed.
Customer responsibilities
The customer must use and maintain the vehicle responsibly, check fluid levels and warning indicators, and follow the manufacturer’s recommended servicing requirements.
The customer must take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after becoming aware of a fault. Additional damage caused by continuing to drive an unsafe or overheating vehicle may not be covered.
Aftercare
During and after the warranty period, West Autos can provide:
• Telephone support
• Vehicle inspections
• Servicing assistance
• Help identifying and sourcing suitable repairs
Any servicing, inspection or repair work not expressly approved as a warranty claim may be chargeable. The price will be explained before work is authorised.
Statutory Consumer Rights
This warranty is supplied in addition to, and does not replace or restrict, the customer’s statutory rights.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, every vehicle sold by West Autos must be:
• Of satisfactory quality, taking account of its age, mileage, price, description and other relevant circumstances
• Fit for any particular purpose agreed with the customer
• As described in the advertisement, sales documents and information supplied before purchase
Where a vehicle does not meet these legal requirements, the customer may be entitled to remedies including rejection, repair, replacement or an appropriate price reduction. The remedy available will depend upon the circumstances and when the problem is reported.
The 3-month warranty, its exclusions and its £1,000 claim limit apply only to the additional West Autos warranty. They do not limit any remedy or amount that the customer may be entitled to under consumer law.
Customers should contact West Autos as soon as a fault is discovered and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and provide the appropriate remedy. Customers must not authorise repairs elsewhere without our prior written approval unless urgent action is reasonably necessary to prevent danger or further damage.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
